Design Service

At KM Interiors, we view each client and each project individually. Although each project is tailored to the individual client, we follow a basic approach for each project.

Phone Consultation

We discuss your overall needs and requirements including budget. KM Interiors is happy to work on projects of any size and budget. Please call or email us to begin your design consultation.

In-Person Consultation

You should plan on spending approximately 2 hours (more depending on the scope of the project) with our designer and project manager. We evaluate and measure the space, lighting, ceiling heights, etc., and obtain a general idea of what is needed at your home and how our services will best serve you and your needs. This gives the designer the chance to get to know you, your family, your personality, and your specific goals for your space. This personal consultation also gives you the chance to get to know the designer and understand who you are working with.

The designer will arrive, take notes and photographs to review for a proposal. All of the information gathered will be included with additional elements to create a final presentation once you have committed to contracting with KM Interiors to create your new look.

Please keep in mind that the initial consultation will not allow enough time to provide design advice or to determine a project plan. At KM Interiors, we prefer to thoroughly prepare a complete plan to best suit your needs rather than hastily providing to ideas that may not be the best long-tern solution.

Follow up Meeting / Design Concept and Proposal

At this stage, you have indicated to us that you are interested in proceeding further and we have put together a design proposal for initial review and refinement. The design concept and proposal will be assembled based on the varying details, images, measurements, and scope of the project that we have discussed at our previous meeting.

A design fee of $1000.00 for plan development, presentation, and refinement is due at this stage before we begin with the planning stage. Typically this fee is credited back as a deposit toward your purchases of products, furniture and services that we provide to you.
If you like what we are verbally discussing with you as far as the overall plans we are presenting, we will then prepare a contract in preparation for the next stage where we will formalize the design and create the final look for your home.

implementation Phase / Product Sourcing

At this stage, we will start implementation of your project, schedule our contractors for your project, and a total invoice will be presented. You will have an opportunity to spend as much time as you like researching on your own to compare pricing.

We deal directly with the manufacturers to produce your items, including fabric selection, specialty sizes, etc. Because of the large number of wholesale accounts that KM Interiors has in our arsenal, we are able to provide all of our furniture, case goods, lighting and accessories to our clients at a cost that is below standard retail. We guarantee the items that we provide will be substantially below any cost. We are committed to providing high-end design at the best possible price—we will match any price you can find.

Upon approval of the final draft, fifty percent of the contracted price is due and applied to your invoice.

production and implementation & delivery

The production is done in stages, with walls and carpeting first, then with the installation and delivery of any custom furniture, and ending with the smaller items, accessories, wall art, etc. We will keep you abreast of estimated delivery times or potential delays on all of the items on your invoice.

Some furniture pieces (especially custom-design) may take up to 4- 12 weeks to construct. Often, everything else is completed just in time for the furniture to be delivered.

Project walk-through

At the end of the project, we will go through the space and provide those last-minute touches to beautifully finish your space. The final payment is due upon completion of the room
